The G major minuet’s companion in the minor: the same two-line minuet texture in 3/4, reading B flat and E flat from the key, F sharp as the leading note, and E natural and B natural as the music passes through B flat major and F major before returning home; mordents (bars 13, 22) and short trills (bars 8, 9, 15, 31). Both halves repeated.
How to practise it
In bars 1-3 the left hand holds one long note per bar and the right hand leads; in bar 4 the left hand runs in eighths. Practise bar 4's left hand alone at 80 BPM.
Bars 4 and 12 look alike, but in bar 12 the left hand plays B natural, not B♭. Loop bars 9-13 and listen for the change.
From bar 17 the music passes through F major, with E natural in bars 17 and 19. Read those notes before you play the second half.
Bar 27's right hand leaps back and forth between two lines, and bar 31 has a short trill before the end. Loop bars 27-31 at 80 BPM.
