Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmüller
A graceful right-hand melody mixing 16th-note turns with dotted-quarter/eighth figures over a sustained left-hand triad in each bar, in 3/4 at a moderate tempo - light articulation and phrase shading more than raw technique.
Arrangement for this app (CC0)
This is our own re-engraving, not a copy of the Mutopia file, and it is an arrangement of the opening strain only (11 of the source's measures): the source's own second strain closes with a more virtuosic ottava-displaced descending/ascending run and a forte chord that we judged too advanced for this shelf slot, so measures 12-16 here are our own closing - a restatement of the opening's 16th-note turn figure (same as measures 1, matching the source's own written repeat structure) followed by a simple IV-V7-I cadence, built from the piece's own motifs rather than transcribed from the source's actual ending. On 2026-10-04 the left hand's chords of measures 12-16 moved down an octave, where measures 1-11 have them: they had been written an octave too high, above and between the right hand's notes, so the hands interleaved and shared keys (Constitution 1.8.0 VII); and the music review of that day corrected the cadence's harmony: bar 14's melody ends on B-flat 4, a chord tone, as in Burgmüller's measure 2, and bar 15 resolves A4 to G4 over C3 B-flat 3, his own dominant-seventh voicing, so the melody falls C5-B-flat 4-A4-G4-F4.
Changes from the source: Bars 12-16 are our own close. Bars 12-16 re-arranged 2026-10-04: the left hand an octave lower, as in bars 1-11, and the cadence rewritten as IV-V7-I (bar 15: A4-G4 over C3 B-flat 3).
